How to Customise and Manage Finals Fixtures
Successfully managing sports fixtures requires attention to naming conventions, fixture types, and their impact on competition dynamics, such as ladder updates. Below is a guide to help you customise and manage your finals effectively:
Naming Your Finals Rounds
You have the flexibility to name your finals rounds as you prefer, except when dealing with specific fixture types:
For non-knockout rounds or "friendlies," you may use any names you like for each round.
For knockout fixtures (e.g., semi-finals, quarter-finals), ensure that each round of a knockout bracket uses the same name. Consistency in naming for knockout stages is critical to maintaining clarity and accuracy in competition structures.
Creating Finals Fixtures
When setting up finals fixtures for your Competition, you can choose between Knockout Fixtures or Round Robin Fixtures:
Knockout Fixtures: Results from these fixtures will not update the Ladder. Use this format if you want to keep finals results separate from Ladder calculations.
Round Robin Fixtures: Finals results added in this format will contribute to Ladder points and rankings. Choose this option if you intend for final outcomes to affect the overall competition rankings.
Note: If you would like to create finals fixtures before teams are decided, use 'Knock-Out Fixtures' as placeholder fixtures.
