Making a quick change to one Fixture no longer means opening the fixtures spreadsheet and scrolling across to find the right row. Association Admins and Managers can now click on any Fixture to open a quick-edit modal, with all the editable details for that Fixture in one focused view.
What is it?
Previously, editing a single Fixture meant navigating to the fixtures spreadsheet, locating the correct row, and updating values inline — often with relevant columns hidden off-screen. The quick-edit modal gives you a faster way to make changes to one Fixture at a time, without leaving the page you're on.
The modal follows the same layout you're already familiar with from the Session edit modal, so the experience will feel consistent with other parts of Compete.
Benefits
Faster edits: Update a Fixture's details without hunting through the spreadsheet view.
One-click team swap: Swap the Home and Away teams for a Fixture instantly from within the modal.
Familiar layout: Uses the same modal design as the Session edit experience, so there's nothing new to learn.
How to Edit a Fixture
Locate the Fixture you want to edit (from your Fixtures list or schedule view).
Click on the Fixture to open the quick-edit modal.
Update any of the editable fields shown in the modal.
To swap the Home and Away teams, select the swap action within the modal.
Select Save to apply your changes and close the modal.
Changes are only applied once you save — closing the modal or clicking away without saving will discard any edits.
What You Can Do from the Modal
For now, the quick-edit modal supports:
Editing Fixture details
Cancelling the Fixture
Other actions remain available as bulk actions from the fixtures spreadsheet view.
Troubleshooting
"My changes didn't save"
Make sure you select Save within the modal before closing it. Clicking away or closing the modal without saving will discard your changes.
