You can use Tags to group students for a number of reasons, including colours, skillsets, certificates, borrowed equipment, awards, and much more. Tags are customisable to your school's needs.

Tags can help you track students' skill sets or the instruments they play. It can help you quickly identify replacements for teams and ensembles. This can be easily done on the Team Power View page.

The same idea can be applied to other Activities, such as Rugby, where you could Tag players with their positions (or choose to create Positions within the Team and assign students to those positions).

Example: Another Oboe player is needed for an ensemble. By going to the student list and filtering by the Oboe Tag, I can see there are six students in the school who play the Oboe (see the image below).

If your students borrow equipment, such as jerseys, bibs or balls, you can use Tags to track this (you may instead choose to list the items in Resources and track the loan or rental this way). Then, filter the student list to see who still needs to return equipment (see the example below).

Example: Jenna Cohen borrows a jersey for Rugby. A Tag indicates she borrowed this item (see the first image). Then once she returns the jersey, the Tag can be removed from her Profile (see the second image).

If you want to track which students have a First-Aid Certificate, you can create a Tag and attach it to the relevant students. You can easily search by this Tag to see students with this certification (see example below).

You might want to track and report who won the most improved player for a term or game season, or some similar achievement. During (or at the end of) that period of time, you can Tag students with the relevant achievements. You can export a list of which students got which achievements by going to Students > Actions > Export Student Tags.

View what awards a student has achieved by looking under Tags in their Profile (see example below).

You can use Tags to restrict an Activity, so that it may only be selected by a certain student or group of students assigned a particular Tag, or several Tags.
