Only Managers and Admins can use Team Power View. This screen is not available on mobile devices.
Teams and Groups are interchangeable terms in Clipboard.
What is Power View?
The Team Power View is a screen designed to make Team/Group management easier and more powerful. It enables you to filter students by very specific criteria and then add them into the appropriate Team(s).
How to Use the Power View
At the top right corner of the Teams Page, click the View button and select Power View.
Clicking this button will take you to a page within Teams where you can easily:
Select multiple students to add and move between Teams
Search for Teams by name
Search for students to add to Teams by using filters (see image below) or the search bar
To add multiple students at a time to a Team:
Click Enter Power View
Use the filter on the right-hand side of the Teams page to sort by Activity, Hidden status, and current/planned for your Team. If your school has many Teams within these filters, you can use the search bar to look for a Team by name.
Use the filters on the left-hand side of the Teams page to search for students.
Note: If a filter has been applied, a red dot will appear on the top right corner of the Filter button and on the filter option itself in the dropdown menu. The red dot will count the number of filters you are currently using. You can also see which filters have been applied as they show under the search students bar (see image below). To clear your filters, either close the filter boxes under the search bar, or click on Filter and choose to clear a selected filter or clear all selected filters.
4. Select multiple students by clicking on the box that corresponds to the student. You can search further down the list of students by using the scroll function. You can use the View and Deselect options at the bottom of the student's list to manage your selections.
Top Tip: You can select all students by simply clicking on the box of the first student, and then holding shift while clicking the box of the last student.
5. To add the selected students to a Team, either drag the students into that Team OR click on Add to Team button for the corresponding Team (see both options in the image below).
Note: If a student is already in a Team within that Activity, you will get a pop-up message asking if you want to remove them from their other Teams. If you want them to stay in their current Teams, uncheck the boxes.
Top Tip: You can also use the drag-and-drop method to move multiple students into another Team!
To learn more about moving students between Teams, check out this article.
To leave Power View, click on the View button and select either List View or Column View. It appears next to the Manage Teams button.
Some Use-Cases to Get Started:
Here are just a couple of potential use cases for the Power View.
Finding the right replacement or fit for a Team
You might need to fill a certain position in a Team (or an ensemble), whether you’re looking for a violinist for an orchestra or a forward for a Basketball Team. Just use the filter to search for a student who has the Tag for the position you are looking for!
Activity Selection
You can see all the students who have picked a certain Activity who aren’t yet in a Team for that Activity. This lets you easily place them into a Team, ensuring no one slips through the cracks. Just use the filter to search for those who have selected that Activity in a Selection Group but are not yet in a Team!
