How the Integration Works
Once set up, the Compass Writeback integration works automatically in the background, ensuring Clipboard remains your centralised system for managing all extracurricular Activities and Teams, with Compass receiving these updates automatically.
Team Sessions
Create a new Team Session: Automatically creates a corresponding Club Instance in Compass, with all current Team members enrolled
Update session details: Updates the Club Instance in Compass
Change session start or end time: Will NOT update the Session start or end time.
Cancel a Team Session: Marks the Club Instance as cancelled in Compass
Delete a Team Session: Removes the corresponding Club Instance from Compass
Student Sessions
Create a new Student Session: Automatically creates a corresponding Club Instance in Compass. The student will sync as a part of the Club Category's
Non-team SessionsClub.Update session details (location, description, type): Updates the Club Instance in Compass
Change session start or end time: Will NOT update the Session start or end time.
Delete a Student Session: Removes the corresponding Club Instance from Compass
Currently, you must delete the session and recreate it with the new time in Clipboard. This will remove the old Club Instance and create a new one in Compass
Fixtures
Fixtures sync to Compass as Club Instances following the same behaviour as Team Sessions above.
It's important to note that, as per the notice in the screenshot below, Clipboard must be the source of any changes to the Team, not Compass, as Clipboard is the source of truth for that Team.
What's Next?
This integration is new, and Clipboard and Compass will continue to build and develop it to be the best-in-class two-way integration between an Extracurricular Management System and a Student Information System.
