Fixture Inbox Notifications

Stay up-to-date with the latest Fixture changes in your Association

What are Fixture Inbox Notifications?

Fixture Inbox Notifications are notifications sent to Compete Admins and Managers with appropriate access regarding changes to fixtures which have appeared in their inbox. These can be triggered by:

  • Opposing Schools

  • The Association themselves

No matter the origin, staying on top of these notifications is critical to your Schools' success on Clipboard Compete.

Types of Fixture Inbox Notifications

Our system sends different notifications based on the urgency:

  • 1 - Urgent Notifications (Within 24 Hours of a Fixture)

When a game is less than a day away, timely information is vital.

  • Called "Last-minute Fixture updates"

  • If any changes requiring action (time, venue, cancellations) occur within this 24-hour window, an urgent alert is triggered after an Admin/Manager accepts the change in the Inbox.

  • How: Via Push Notification (Mobile/Desktop).

To prevent "notification spam" during busy periods (like widespread weather changes), we bundle multiple changes made around the same time into a single, consolidated notification. Even if 30 changes occur, you'll receive one clear alert in a timely manner.

  • 2 - End-of-Day Summary Notifications (Outside 24 Hours)

These are for changes made further in advance, you receive a daily wrap-up.

  • Called New Association Fixtures

  • This is a digest of all fixture changes that have been accepted and require action.

  • How: Via Push Notification (Mobile/Desktop).

  • When: Sent daily at around 3:30 PM. This timing is designed to allow sports administrators to review updates after the school day but before leaving for the evening.

  • This summary includes all pending changes, even those sitting in the inbox for a few days

    • Changes made after 3:30 PM are included in the next day's summary.

Best Practices for Success

  • Check Daily: Admins and Managers should check the Fixtures Inbox daily during the season.

  • Enable Push: Encourage Admins and Managers to enable push notifications on their devices for immediate alerts.

  • Accept Promptly: Remember that Staff, Parents, and Students won't see changes until they are accepted in the Inbox.

  • Communicate Internally: Ensure your Staff understand they rely on Admin/Manager acceptance before seeing official updates.

Troubleshooting: "My coaches aren't seeing the changes!"

This is the most common query, and the answer almost always lies in the two-step process.

  • Solution: Staff-level users do not get these notifications.

    • Check that an Admin or Manager has accepted the relevant changes in the Fixtures Inbox.

    • Once this process has happened, you may trigger notifications to the Staff, Parents and Students accordingly

    • Until this happens, Staff, Parents, and Students they will not see the updates or receive notifications.
