Fixture, Result & Ladder Management

A step-by-step guide and information for associations managing Fixtures, Results and Ladders.

Creating a Fixture

In the Fixtures Tab, there are three methods to create Fixtures. See the steps below:

Option 1 - Manual Upload

  1. Click the Create Fixtures button

  2. Select Manual Upload

  3. Select the correct Season using the drop-down menu

  4. Manually enter data into the spreadsheet

  5. Click Create

Option 2 - Import Fixtures

  1. Click the Create Fixtures button.

  2. Select the correct Season using the drop-down menu.

  3. Select Import Fixtures.

  5. Upload a Spreadsheet. This can be done either by pasting or by uploading. Once that’s done, follow the provided flow

    1. Match up your spreadsheet’s column headings to the Clipboard column headings

    2. Match School names to Clipboard School names

    3. Match Teams in your spreadsheet to Clipboard Teams. Note that this requires that the Schools have nominated those Teams

      1. This step should happen automatically unless a School has multiple Teams in one Grade. In that case, you’ll have to step in and manually map the Teams

    4. Scroll down and Match all your Venues to the Clipboard Compete Locations and Sublocations

  6. Click Create.

Option 3 - Generate Fixtures

  1. Click the Create Fixtures button.

  2. Select the Generate Fixtures option.

  3. Fill in the Basic Details fields.

  4. Click the Confirm in Spreadsheet button.

  5. Make any final adjustments using the spreadsheet, including adding Start Times, adding Locations, updating Knockout structures, etc.

  6. Once you’re happy, click the Publish Fixtures button.

Fixture Filters

Filters can be found in the Fixtures Tab. The Fixtures Filters allow Associations to manage all Fixtures from a centralised space.

Using the drop-down boxes, associations can filter by:

  • Season

  • Activities

  • Competition

  • Grade

  • Round

  • School

  • Consensus

  • Results Entered By

  • Fixture Type

  • Visibility

  • Date Range

  • Updated Since

Fixture Columns

The table columns contain information about individual Fixtures. Some of the information is live and drawn from Associations and Schools.

Below is a description outlining each column in the Fixture Tab:

Round: The stage of the competition in which the fixture takes place.

Home and Away: Display the Home and Away schools and their Teams.

Results: Once a result is entered, the score from the fixture will appear here. You can also record a result using the button in this column.

Details: The date, time and location will appear here. These details are live - depending on your school permissions, schools can update them and the most recent update will appear here.

Consensus: Here, you will see the following options regarding the result:

  • In Sync - schools and associations have matching information

  • Confirmed Results - association sets this and blocks schools from editing a result

  • Discrepancy - at least one school has out-of-date information

  • Not Yet Accepted - at least one school hasn't accepted the fixture

Fixture Type: The type of completion structure; Round Robin, Knockout or Friendly.

Managing Fixtures

Existing fixtures can be managed in the Fixtures tab using the More button on the top right (see image).

Use the checkboxes on the far right to select the Fixtures you want to manage.

Here Associations can manage Fixtures using the following actions:

  • Editing Fixtures

    • Once edited and saved, any fixture changes will be communicated back to the Schools involved via their Fixture Inbox - Changed Tab

  • Cancel Fixtures

    • After prompting you for confirmation, this action will cancel the selected fixtures for both involved Teams

    • They will remain in the Fixtures tab in the event that you wish to un-cancel them

    • Cancelled Fixtures will be communicated to the Schools involved via their Fixture Inbox - Cancelled Tab

    • Cancelled fixtures with a result entered will not count towards the Competition Ladder.

  • Un-Cancel Fixtures

    • After prompting you for confirmation, this action will un-cancel the selected fixtures for both involved Teams

  • Confirm Scores

  • Un-confirm Scores

  • Delete Fixtures

    • This will permanently delete fixtures and you will not be able to recover them. Note that this is different from Cancel, which will still leave Fixtures visible

  • Export Fixtures

Editing Fixture Details

Associations can edit Fixture details using the following steps:

  1. In the Fixtures tab, use the checkboxes on the far right to select the Fixtures you want to edit.

  2. Click on the More button (top right)

  3. Select Edit Fixtures

  4. Enter the changes into the spreadsheet and click Update

Note: Schools will be notified of any updates made to Fixtures via their Fixture Inbox

Confirming or Unconfirming Results for Schools

Associations can manage results by confirming and unconfirming scores. If a score is unconfirmed, schools can edit the results. Once a score is confirmed, it will automatically update all the school scores and prevent them from being edited.

This action is useful if the association wishes to lock and finalise scores for one or more fixtures. It will prevent schools from making any further changes to the Result in their Clipboard instance.

To confirm or unconfirm Scores, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Fixtures tab, use the checkboxes on the far right to select the Fixtures you want to edit.

  2. Click on the More button (top right)

  3. Select Confirm Score or Unconfirm Score

  4. Click Confirm

Making Adjustments to Ladders

Associations can make two adjustments to competition ladders:

Adjustment 1 – Adjust Column Value

  • Associations can adjust column values to increase or decrease column values, altering the ranking

Adjustment 2 – Override Rank

  • Associations can override a team's rank

To make these adjustments, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Ladders tab

  2. Click the Adjust button (located at the top right of each competition ladder)

  3. Select either "Adjust Column Value" or "Override Rank"

  4. Fill in the appropriate fields

  5. Click Save

All changes will be visible below the Ladder in the 'Adjustments' section, which is only visible to logged-in Compete Users.
