Setting up SSO with Google Admin Console

How to set up SSO using Google Admin Console.

This is for IT Admins only.

Creating a Custom SAML App for Clipboard using the Google Admin Console: A User-Friendly Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open your web or mobile apps.

  2. Select "Add App."

  3. Choose "Add Custom SAML App."

  4. Enter the app name as "Clipboard."

  5. Download the metadata file provided, THEN click "CONTINUE".

  6. Log in to your Clipboard account.

  7. Navigate to Settings > Security > Configure SSO

  8. Click on the "Configure" button.

  9. Click on the "Upload a File Instead" button.

  10. Either drag and drop the downloaded metadata file or click to browse and select it from your device. Alternatively, you can upload a URL.

  11. Tick the checkbox to enable SSO and save the configuration. You should now have 3 URLs at the bottom of the SSO configuration.

  12. Copy and paste 2 of the URLs to your SAML setup:

    • Reply URL -> ACS URL

    • Metadata URL -> Entity ID

  13. Select a Name ID. Usually, this is EMAIL.

  14. Leave the rest untouched and click "CONTINUE". Then click FINISH.

  15. Allow staff users access to this application.

  16. Then, try logging into go.Clipboard.app.

That's it! You've successfully created a custom SAML app for Clipboard.

This same process can be repeated when setting up SSO for the Portal. However, access will be for students and/or parents.

If you encounter an error, you may need to re-download the latest metadata URL file and upload it to Clipboard again.

To bypass SSO when it is enabled, go to this URL and enter your email and password: https://go.clipboard.app/login?forceEmailAuth=true.
