Do you require better security for Clipboard Users who do not use Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Clipboard now offers multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication (2FA). Ensuring the security of student data is paramount, especially when dealing with external contractors, casual coaches, and peripatetic tutors who may not have access via SSO.
Setting Up 2FA:
Staff will need to navigate to their Staff Profile
Click on Access and Devices
Click on Configure
Scan the QR code within your Authenticator App (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator).
Once you’ve verified the code, your MFA setup will be complete. You can now use MFA authentication when logging into Clipboard. The next time you log in, you will be required to enter your 2FA code from your Authenticator app.

I've lost my backup codes. What do I do?
Your IT Admin can retrieve your backup codes for you. Reach out to your school's Clipboard IT Admin user to get access.
Where do I find the option to generate backup codes for a user?
Navigate to the staff member's profile and select the Access and Devices tab. From here you can generate backup codes for yourself or on staff's behalf.
Does 2FA apply if my school uses Single Sign-On (SSO)?
No, 2FA only applies to username and password logins. If your school uses SSO, you'll log in through your SSO provider instead, and 2FA is not required.
How do I deactivate 2FA?
Go to your Staff Profile Settings
Navigate to "Access and Devices" Click Change
Enter your backup code to confirm
This will deactivate 2FA on your account when you click cancel and ignore the new barcode.
