Nominating Teams
Nominating a team for your association's competition is essential. This is what allows the association to see your Teams and create Fixtures for them.
Important: Without completing this step, your association cannot progress to the next phase of creating Fixtures.
To nominate a Team for your association's competitions, follow these steps:
On the left-hand side, go to Fixtures
Click the Competition tab
Scroll to find the correct Season
You will then be able to search for Teams and nominate them for the appropriate grade
Example of Season and Team nomination view
If you cannot see the team, ensure an Admin-level user has checked that the correct 'Type' is associated with the Activity. This is the crucial link that will connect your Activity to your association's Activity.
Head to Settings > Environments
Scroll down to your Activity and click on it
Ensure the Type dropdown field matches the Activity. Remember that we're a Sydney, NSW-based company, so there may be a few "gotcha's" in there - particularly with the different codes of Football globally! (e.g. there's "Football/Soccer" and "AFL") Additional troubleshooting steps include:

Troubleshooting Team Nominations Issues
Common Causes
Mismatched Activity Type or Selected Activity: The selected activity could differ from the competition type you are nominating for. For instance, choosing a generic "Volleyball" activity instead of the specific competition type "Indoor Volleyball" can prevent grades from appearing.
Missing Teams for the Grade: Team nominations will not display unless the associated Teams for that Grade are created under the specific Activity.
Role-Specific Restrictions: Some actions, such as updating the Activity Type, may require Admin User privileges.
Additional Tips
After making changes to activities, refresh the Fixtures/Competitions tab to apply the updates
Double-check the spelling and naming conventions of the Teams
Fixtures Inbox Basics
All Fixture notifications can be found in the Inbox tab. The Inbox is used to communicate New, Changed, Cancelled, Results for, and Deleted Fixtures between the association and schools.
New
This tab contains all the new association Fixtures. Follow the steps below to Review and Action new Fixtures:
Use the checkboxes on the left to select the Fixtures
Click the 'Review and Action'
The spreadsheet fields can now be edited
i.e. Some fields may be locked; this is managed by the association
Click Save, then review the changes
Select how the changes should be saved:
Draft: Fixtures are only visible to Admins and Managers
Unconfirmed: Fixtures are visible to all users, including students and parents. This status is best used when the details are not final and may change
Confirmed: Fixtures are visible to all users, including students and parents. This status is best used when the details are final and unlikely to change
Select which audience should be notified about upcoming Confirmed Fixtures and record an optional reason for the change
Click Save
Changed
If a Fixture is changed, a notification will appear in this tab:
Accept by clicking the Accept button
Decline by selecting More, and Decline
Edit by clicking More, and Edit
Cancelled
If a Fixture is cancelled, a notification will appear in this tab:
Accept by clicking the Accept button
Decline by selecting More, and Decline
Edit by clicking More and Edit
Results
All Results will be listed here and can be either:

Decline by selecting More, and Decline
Change by clicking More and Edit (if making a change to the result, you can only select one fixture at a time)
Deleted
This tab contains all Deleted Fixtures:
Accept by clicking the Accept button
Decline by selecting More and Decline
Note: If a Fixture is highlighted in red, it indicates a discrepancy between the Schools' Fixtures. This doesn't necessarily need to be resolved to allow the association to progress on their end. However, we would strongly recommend it.
Managing Fixtures
All Fixture details can be found and managed in the Fixtures Tab by Admin or Manager Users.
At the top of the Fixtures tab, you can search for a specific Fixture or use the following drop-down boxes to filter Fixtures by Activities, Time Period, Round and Association.
The following information can be accessed and actions can be performed in the
Fixtures tab:
Date: The day and round in which the Fixture is being played
Team: The school’s team that is playing in the Fixture
Opponent: The school and team facing the school in the Fixture
Location: The association manages Locations that schools can access
Time: The start time of the game
Staff: A staff member from the school who is in charge of the Fixture
Status:
Confirmed and Unconfirmed are seen by users, students and guardians
Draft is visible only to Admins and Managers
Results: Displays the result and score of the Fixture or "No result yet"
Consensus: Identifies if the Fixture information is up to date or out of date
How to Edit a Fixture
Follow the steps below to edit a Fixture(s):
In the Fixtures tab, use the checkboxes on the far left to select the relevant Fixtures
Click the Edit button (top right)
Edit the required Fixture fields
Notes on Editing Fixtures
An association can configure what Fixture properties schools can and can’t edit. These settings are managed in the Associations Compete account.
Managing Results
Staff Users (coaches) can enter results into Fixture Sessions. Results can now be recorded for both past and future Fixtures, which is particularly useful for recording competitive outcomes like forfeits or washouts before game day. Recording a score is the only action a staff user can take regarding an association's Fixtures.
Recording Results (Staff Users)
Follow these steps to record a result:
Select the Fixture for which the result is being recorded
Scroll down and click the Record Result button
Fill in the fields with the details of the results
Submit the results
Once results have been submitted via Clipboard, the opposing school can Accept, Edit, or Decline the score through their Fixtures Inbox.
Note: You can record results for future Fixtures. This allows you to document forfeits, washouts or other competitive outcomes without waiting until game day.
Managing Results (Admin or Manager Users Only)
The following actions can only be performed by Admin or Manager Users through the Results tab of the Fixtures Inbox.
To Accept Scores
Open the Results tab in your Fixtures Inbox
Use the checkboxes on the far right to select the Fixtures to manage
Click the Accept button (top right)
To Edit or Decline Scores
Open the Results tab in your Fixtures Inbox
Use the checkboxes on the far right to select the Fixtures to manage
Click the More button (top right)
Select either Edit or Decline
Click Confirm
Association Result Management
Associations can manage results by confirming and unconfirming scores:
Unconfirmed scores: Schools can edit the results
Confirmed scores: Automatically updates all school scores and prevents them from being edited
This action is useful when the Association wishes to lock and finalise scores for one or more Fixtures. Confirming a score prevents schools from making further changes to the result in their Clipboard instance.
Conflicting Results
If your opponent school's result conflicts with yours, you can use the tools above to manage scores. However, if the Association chooses to confirm a score at any time, this effectively locks the score and prevents the participating schools from making any further changes.
Pro Tip: Recording competitive outcomes (forfeits, washouts) for future Fixtures helps streamline communication and prevents unnecessary travel for Students and Guardians. Schools and Associations no longer need to use the cancel/uncancel workaround when a match outcome is determined before game day.
Exporting Fixtures
Please see the Exporting Fixtures article for steps on how to best export Fixtures.
We've expanded the Fixtures Export to include Locations and Sublocations; Home & Away designations, Round Numbers, and Association information.
This means you can now use exported data alongside the Compete Inbox without missing any essential details!
Where to View Competition Ladders
Once your Teams are nominated and Fixtures have been played with results recorded, you can view competition ladders to track your Teams' progress throughout the season.
Accessing Ladders
Navigate to your association's Compete Webpage
The URL will be https://fixtures.clipboard.app/
add your association's acronym here/ladder
Click the Ladders tab at the top of the page
Use the dropdown filters to select:
Season: Select the current or past season
Competition: Choose the relevant Competition
Grades: Filter by specific grade if needed
Schools: Select/multi-select specific schools
View: For weekly competitions, select 'Table' and knock-out or finals fixtures, select 'Knock-out'
Important Notes About Ladders
Ladders are managed and calculated by your Association
Ladder calculations follow the Association's specific competition rules
If you notice discrepancies, contact your Association administrator, as schools cannot edit ladder standings directly
